Chief of Defense Staff and Chairman of the ECOWAS Committee of Chiefs of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa says more than ever, African Nations must be committed to fighting terrorism within their borders.
General Musa gave the charge at the end of 43rd Ordinary Meeting of the ECOWAS Committee of Chiefs of Defense Staff at the Defense headquarters in Abuja.
He says in the course of deliberations, critical vulnerabilities to regional security were identified and the Committee has demonstrated firm resolve towards addressing these threats.
Again Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso have shunned the 43rd Ordinary Meeting of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Committee of Chiefs of Defense Staff, noting that the Sahelian nations have consistently boycotted ECOWAS Committee of Chiefs of Defense Staff meetings since they announced their exit from the regional bloc on 28 January 2024.
